Frequently Asked Questions

Cub Scouts meet in their dens once each month, and a pack meeting is held for all Cub Scouts and their families once a month. Beyond that, your den may hold a special activity, such as a service project or visit to a local museum, in place of one of the monthly meetings or in addition to it. Likewise, a pack may conduct a special event such as a blue and gold banquet as an additional event, rather than a substitute for its monthly pack meeting.
Cub Scouting uniforms and handbooks can be purchased online at https://www.scoutshop.org/ or at our local scout shop located in Moutainside on Route 22. Rank badges and achievement loops will be provided to scouts as they complete their requirements. Find out more about uniforms here.
A parent or guardian is expected to attend cub scout activities with their child especially for the younger age groups. You may give permission for another adult to chaperone them but you need to check in with your den or pack leader beforehand. Overnight camping trips have additional requirements.
Pack and Scouts BSA dues are collected once a year to help cover the costs of activities, uniform patches, and awards. Please contact a pack leader for more details or click here.
Absolutely! Cub scouting is the perfect introduction to camping and outdoorsmanship. Trained leaders are present on every camping trip and frequently hold information sessions prior to every trip to discuss the program, equipment required, and meals. The pack also has spare tents in case you need one.
